I used to rely a lot on people’s approval. Any comments or criticism easily got right under my skin. Both compliments and judgments, I took them all foolishly.

Watching a CNBC investing talk show a long time ago, there was a successful pedigree experienced anchor interviewing two young coming-up investors.

He introduced them and mentioned their Ivy League education background. Then, one of the youngsters said, ‘So are you, isn’t? I recall that you are …’. The old guy genuinely smiled and responded, ‘Well, I got my degrees from a comic book’.

Suddenly enlightened, I was relieved, light, and lifted.
